Oh, look, you found this, how did you manage that? Stop highlighting things, it's not good for you. Might find something you didn't want to see.
kouti-tis-pandoras replied to your post: “4.”
“I remember that.” He muttered before raising his voice. “Good to know, I guess.”He worried at his thumbnail for a second. “Is that so?” It might’ve been rhetorical.
“Sure. Can’t be that I know nothing about the person I owe so much to, right?” He asked with an unmoved expression. He was lying through his teeth. He knew pretty much everything about him, or at least, as much as he had been careless enough not to hide.
He quirked an eyebrow, not entirely buying the façade, but not commenting such in case it turned out he was wrong. It’d happened before, being entirely off, so caution was not to be thrown to the wind. “I’m always open for questions, then.”
A small grin appeared on his face. This brother of his was obviously not as careful as his others. He had a few brothers. Some remembered him, some didn’t. He loved messing with them all the same. Zeva, his dear little sister, was an exception of course, even though she could be quite annoying. “I hoped you would say that.” He paused for a moment. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing, Heracles?” He asked then, his voice piercing the air. “Why the hell has the government stopped working? This is your doing, isn’t it?”
Just because he was open for questions didn’t mean he’d answer them truthfully… or at all, for that matter. “Someone’s coming to conclusions quickly,” he drawled, holding back a small grin. “Why would I do something that would be directly harmful to me? That doesn’t make much sense at all. In fact, who in their right mind would do that?” His hands moved about lazily as he spoke, and he thought about what to tack on next. “I’d like to think that I, personally, am perfectly in my right mind.” A pause. “You might not be, but I am.” The grin was getting more and more difficult to hold back.
“I am not, but I always trusted you to be, indeed. That’s why I am disappointed.” Iraklís was pretty damn insane and he knew it. It wasn’t like he cared. He welcomed it. It made him strong where others would crumble. “You are in charge, brat. So you are responsible.”
“I take it that when you’re responsible for things you never let them get out of hand, then?” Herakles might admire that though process in regards to sanity and insanity at some other point in time, but at this fixed point, he wasn’t so sure he cared. “And perhaps you hold others to that standard as well. Correct me if I’m wrong. I’m just curious.” Curiosity might kill the cat, but he wasn’t dead just yet.
The Greek bared his teeth in a sneer. “During my reign there was no such thing as disorder. People knew who they had to be loyal to and what country they served.” He straightened up. True, the Xoúnta hadn’t lasted long but long enough to prove that he could be trusted with the nation of Greece. Of course he was not meant to be in charge, Herakles was. If he killed him, though… A smile, softer this time, spread across his face for a moment. “I would just very much appreciate if you stopped fucking around and get your damn shit together already. You know I’m just waiting for my chance and a civil war cannot be far ahead if you dare continue like this. You chose a dark path when you betrayed the EU, ‘Greece’. I helped you with that, knowing it’d lead to disaster. But damn, not even I would have thought that you’d screw up so masterly.” He barked a cruel laugh.
Herakles twirled a strand of hair around his finger, just waiting for the other to say something useful, or at least something he hadn’t heard before. The civil war bit was new, so he appreciated that in an off-handed sort of way. “Have you got anything else to say? Because, you know, by prattling on about how much of a screw-up I am and whatnot, you’re really just wasting both of our times. Time wasted is less time for me to… what was it? Get my shit together. There we go, that’s it.” It also wasn’t in his agenda to die any time in the near future, nor was it in his best interest. Therefore, that small smile didn’t seem like it would be the best thing to trust.
He was used to such responses by now. When he had been younger they would have shocked him but not anymore. “You don’t seem to understand, therefore I will repeat myself until you finally get it.” He replied, calmer this time. He sure knew why he’d rather everyone feared him. He hated it so much when people took him lightly, especially his brother. Especially him…
“Oh, I think I do get it. It’s not very difficult. Unless there’s some underlying-underlying message you’re trying to convey, in which case it might just be easier to come out and say it.” He didn’t frequently show anything other than taking people lightly in conversations like this, mainly because it irritated those on the other side of the conversation. This tended to be the result that made them leave the most often, but if they didn’t it usually ended in an argument. Or a fight.
“Then you really suck at being a country because you don’t change anything.” He shrugged. Where was the point in this? He could as well be talking to a fucking wall.
“I wasn’t aware you decided who was good at being a country or not.” Or that anyone did, for that matter. This appeared to be going well for him.
